THE TCHAIKOVSKY Writing instrument
Montegrappa’s Genio Creativo family of pens honors the greatest artists and thinkers from diverse creative disciplines. New to the pen family are two limited editions commemorating the composer and musical giant Pyotr “Peter” Ilyich Tchaikovsky (1840–1893).
The first Tchaikovsky pen, the White Swan, has an ivory white resin barrel decorated with an excerpt from Swan Lake’s musical score. The black resin pen cap has laser-cut engravings of Tchaikovsky’s portrait and signature. On the angled cap top is a prominent G-clef “sol key” bearing a diamond inset. The clip resembles a flute, said to be the composer’s favorite instrument. A Swan Lake ballet dancer is etched on top of the 18k gold nib.
The second pen is appropriately named the Black Swan. Matching the form of the White Swan, this pen features black resin for both the barrel and cap. Its sol key has a Swarovski crystal rather than a diamond. The cap is also engraved with Tchaikovsky’s portrait and signature. Finally, the black barrel features an excerpt from Swan Lake’s music original score in contrasting white.
